Ciliatech are delighted to announce the appointment of Gabriele (‘Gabi’) Grubert as Senior Surgical Glaucoma Sales Specialist for the DACH region, joining the company to strengthen its commercial organisation across one of Europe’s most important ophthalmology markets.
In her new role, Gabi will lead commercial activities across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, support surgeons through clinical training and education, strengthen relationships with customers and key opinion leaders, and help drive the adoption of Ciliatech’s innovative glaucoma technologies throughout the DACH region. Drawing on her extensive industry expertise and leadership experience, she will play a key role in supporting the successful commercialisation of the Intercil® Uveal Spacer.
Prior to joining Ciliatech, Gabi gained more than 33 years of experience in surgical ophthalmology, specialising in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), commercial leadership and business development. She began her career at AMO/Allergan before progressing through coaching, project management and sales leadership roles. She later held senior commercial positions at Optos, where she became Head of Sales for the DACH region, followed by almost six years at Glaukos Corporation supporting surgeons with MIGS training and certification across Germany. Most recently, she served as Sales Manager for the DACH and Nordic regions at iStar Medical, focusing on supraciliary glaucoma surgery.
Gabi’s appointment further strengthens Ciliatech’s presence across the DACH region and reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting surgeons through outstanding clinical education and innovation. Her expertise in glaucoma surgery and well-established relationships within the ophthalmology community will play an important role in driving Ciliatech’s continued growth across one of its key European markets.
